Jackie and Josh | Wedding | Old Silk Mill

An Old Silk Mill Celebration

Josh and Jackie’s wedding was one of those beautiful days that was so much more than a wedding. It felt like a reunion, and a homecoming to the place where their relationship began. They met at the University of Mary Washington, and although they moved to Florida since graduating they kept coming back and adding to their memories there. The whole day flowed easily, even with multiple locations from the Old Silk Mill, to St. Mary’s Church, to UMW, and back to the Old Silk Mill!

It wasn’t on the official timeline to stop by Carl’s. Revisiting my notes I’m a little shocked by that. Any time we photograph a wedding in downtown Fredericksburg and there’s even a remote chance we’ll have time, you can find “Carl’s?” somewhere on the timeline. I know we talked about stopping for ice cream, especially since Jackie and Josh met, became friends, fell in love, and got engaged in Fredericksburg. The day of their Old Silk Mill wedding  ended up being exceptionally sunny, and more than a little warm. By the time we finished their portraits at the University of Mary Washington the question of Carl’s had turned into a certainty. We always build extra time into the timeline for moments and mishaps, so I was glad we could fit in a little break for them.

Not that there wasn’t plenty of time to relax and celebrate later. They danced the afternoon into evening with their friends, family, and some very cool signature drinks. (Long Island Lemonade and MaryWash Margaritas anyone?)  I think they were a little nervous the way most couples are. Hoping that everything went smoothly, and that the people they loved enjoy themselves. As it turns out, they had nothing to worry about. It was truly an epic day. Congratulations Jackie and Josh!!

Those smiles!!!
